Ask them to intervene on behalf of Virginia rate payers to require AEP to study less expensive and less environmentally damaging alternatives to the Wyoming to Cloverdale 765kV power line. West Virginia's consumer advocate has already done so on behalf of West Virginia rate payers.
The Wyoming to Cloverdale option is not in the best interest of Virginia rate payers. Options that will save rate payers tens of millions of dollars must not be ignored. AEP did not supply sufficient information to justify their dismissal to the SCC.
Tell them you support the Four County Motion to notice and study alternative routes. Ask them to grant this motion.
This in no way concedes that AEP has a need for the line or supports any specific route for a 765kV powerline. It only states that if the SCC finds a need, the Wyoming to Cloverdale option is not in the best interest of Virginia rate payers. Options that will save rate payers tens of millions of dollars must not be ignored. AEP did not supply sufficient information to justify their dismissal to the SCC.
